Rly interesting how academia sees diversity as a cure for racism/xenophobia/etc except in the case of impoverished white Southerners/Appalachians in which case academia derides them for having the gall to speak with their native dialect or being so brazen as to not hate their home regions.
Extension of this: so-called progressives who squeal with laughter at the sound of our accents, at the thought of poor children with fucked up teeth because they can’t afford a dentist, at jokes about children being raped by their family members because haha inbred hicks, and other humiliations never challenged and universally acceptable in this country.
