I can’t take anyone describing fandom as like this revolutionary font of subversive creativity and generative criticism seriously anymore, ever again, including myself, because i just saw someone claim that the scene in The Last Jedi where Kylo ren is talking to Rey about her parents would be ‘more impactful’ if he had said the words “i know who your parents are… they’re mine too. we’re siblings” to her instead of his actual lines, As if that would not, literally, be the funniest fucking thing ever to hear a character say out of nowhere in a blockbuster Movie
“Rey. I know what’s in your minifridge… it’s mine too. We’re roommates”
